There are many different recipes for buttercream around and I have tried a few but this one has to be the best and most simple to make.
A lady, on a stall at Cake International, kindly passed on her knowledge to me.
500g icing sugar
1. First blend the butter by itself for 2 minutes until pale and creamy.
2. Then gradually add the icing sugar a bit at a time and blend for approximately 7 minutes until pale and fluffy.
You then have you base to add your flavouring or the colour desired.
How simple is that? What’s even better is the light sweet taste. Mmmm!
